Minetest Server No. 521

There was /mapfix when I first logged on to this server a few weeks ago. When I try /mapfix it now tells me I do not have the skins permission. I have a few dark patches around my protected areas. How can this be fixed?

I did plant some trees in the dark areas. When they grew the dark went away.
/Mapfix was easier. Oh well...

Always dying after exit game this is annoying.

I miss it on other servers. You don't have to care about your stuff when you leave, it just wait there in your inventory. That sucks. And it also means there's less bones and especially less bones with valuable stuff out there to find. No other server is so great for bone hunting as S521.

No craft guide in inventory this is annoying, can't find the papyrus to create the book of crafting and it's too annoying.

There was a chat command /craft. idk if it's still there. If it was replaced by a craftable craft guide book, that's rad.

Fire try destroy all forests in the world.

I agree, it causes a massive lag :/ On the other hand, you can burn stuff. :D
Just Test server is much better when it comes to fire though: there you can burn even protected stuff. :)

Neko asked me to post here about a player called IHydra who has some weird privs like "zoom".

Also, there are tons of players just joining and leaving the game recently, all with some random name and a 3-digit number. The whole chat is spammed with just players joining and leaving.

Does someone have local copies, screens or anything of Mvk's sky island, particularly of the house I had there? As his account expired, so did the protection in that area despite I and other players had subareas there and so now it's all griefed. If anyone has a copy or a screenshot of my house please post it here or PM me. I'd be grateful.

I logged in and it said access denied. Client version not supported.
What is the client version and how do I change it?

I logged in fine this time. Changed nothing.

How ever..... I still want to update.
I looked at two things.
1) How to Update Ubuntu
2) How to Update Minetest
Result....there are many steps
I have not changed anything at this time.

Uninstall Minetest then Reinstall...that easy!!!!!
I am now running Minetest 14.16 with Ubuntu 16.04

If you have problems with an out-of-date client, you should try downloading the current client version. If you are using a pc, you can just do so on http://www.minetest.net/, the site this forum belongs to.

Also, I am guessing that some players use old incompatible forks of minetest, so they just crash as soon as they log in. At least that is how I try explain why so many people instantly leave the moment they join. Probably not important.

Ok, as you might have noticed, there aren't really a lot of active players(as in, players who actually play there) on M521, my project. It's been like that for a long while, and I think that it does not make sense to keep this experiment going. (Expecially because I no longer have the time to support it even if it where active)

While it was fun at first, back when all those old players where still playing, it's become a ghost town now (npbody's played there for over a year), so I have decided to shut M521 down (this will also shut down S521, the side-server which I created for those players who just wanted to mess around in a not serious, no-rules sandbox-like server, for those who couldn't play on M521) next week on thursday (February, 22nd)

Did the server opened really on purposes? we' all thought that this server would be close forever and this is the last decisions from you. Many players from this server are quitting playing Minetest because of the absence of this server, hence will you add more interesting mods into both of your servers? so people will get attracted into it.

Survival Server 521 is my favorite minetest server but lately there have been a player getting into locked chests and stealing all the items from multiple players. Also there is a glitch that is banning players I doubt would have done something to get banned. Please remove these probablems. Also I really think you should add mesecons

There is no one taking care about the server.

* Don't visit this Server anymore (like me and my daughter)
* or build similar castle like I have there, until now not broken and chests not touched. The one big block house with water around and the white entrance for a lot of name like Thomas, Celine, Amun, and others = double iron doors.

But we aren't there also anymore - as Minetestserver is missing basic shelter against cheating and active admin.

Hey i'm wizard. I think the russian guy decoded my password on my account and set another password. I don't now if it is but i can't open your server an it says to me it is the wrong password but it is the good one. So pleaze help me to see what is going on and if the russian guy reconnected to my account. The last day i have been banned for no reason and they was no timing so weird things happend to me.

So far I know there is no admin anymore ... long time, nothing happend changed, I was there, build a raid, nobody got in yet ... but build for loos all ?
