IIRC Redcrab did not upgrade it past minetest 0.4.4, you can't connect to it with newer minetest anymore

Neither did I. Redcrab upgrading would be great! Upgrading the engine without changing the game might even work (mostly). Upgrading minetest_game would be a slightly more complicated issue. I miss Redcrabs server.

OldCoder has a copy of this server's map on one of his servers, but we are not supposed to talk about him. Any attempts to do so will be censored.

There ought to be still that part of the map which I captured some years back somewhere on my disk. It's slightly over 100 MB in size and thus not easy to upload. And it does not contain any changes since then.

It's a pity that Redcrabs server is no longer there. It was a very enjoyable server for a long time. But with no maintenance - no adjustment to changes in the engine so that players with more recent clients could connect - there was no way to save it in the end.

It is very easy to do via torrents (no need to register anything really, it is very simple, also don't forget to zip the map itself to reduce archive size). Or share the map with me via https://transfer.sh/ -short term storage (I will do it via torrents myself). You can ask me on IRC for instructions/link.

Sadly this world capture misses some amazing places I visited :( I know there is bigger world capture available, someone needs to share it.
