Internal Server Error 500

When trying to upload an attachment I'm getting this message:

500 Internal Server Error
nginx/1.7.12

Moreover attached pics in different posts by various users at least in older threads in sections 'General' , 'Maps' and 'Textures' don't display at all or can be viewed only in a small topmost part. Is it something that only I am experiencing, can you confirm this issue?

No, I have the same problem since yesterday, the screenshots are only partially displayed, you are not the only one.
I tried it with two different browsers but the result is almost unchanged.

EDIT: It seems to be better now, for me the problem is gone. Oo

Yesterday, editing the first post of my server thread was landing me on the Server Error 500 page.

Today, I was able to post the edits as normal.

This may or may not be related to, but....

Either last night or the night before, around midnight PST, I encountered a specific page detailing a forum backup. Having never seen that page before when coming to the forums, I was a bit skeptical. I assume this was normal.

However, it may be that either your 500 error was generated around the same time, or may be due to something related to the backup.
